 | I am writing to express my desire to see more of the 12 kingdoms stories made into animated form. The expansive story is more compelling than any short-comings of the limited-animation pan & scan style. I am a new fan to this series and have just begun getting the books in English. This world is as fascinating to me as any created by J. R. R. Tolkien, L.Frank Baum or C.S. Lewis.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the series the first time and was sad to see it end. With every viewing since then, I glean more about the fascinating mythology of the twelve kingdoms. The characters are well written and complex. The interactions and political machinations are on the level of complexity of any work of Shakespeare and draw the reader in.
This is one of my favorite anime, along with Ghost in the Shell (all movies, series & OVA), Appleseed, Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, Elfen Lied, Freedom, Blood+, Shingetsutant Tsukihime, and anything from Ghibli Studios.
